Marin Headlands Hostel, our view off the back porch
I'm still reeling from Christina and Jacob's intimate Monday evening wedding last month outside San Francisco. The event was just for 30 friends and family, and somehow for Ashley and I as well. We were hired to document the event and in turn, we were treated like the closest of friends. Ashley and I showed up at wedding house (a hostel in Marin Headlands) on Sunday night, which is where the whole party stayed. We immediately were handed a plate of barbecue and were invited into the story of this incredible couple. It was the night before the wedding so I guess it was the rehearsal dinner, though it felt way too natural to be one. After eating, I grabbed my LOMO and Mamiya and took Christina & Jacob outside for an impromptu shoot. We came in after the sun set. In lieu of speeches, the guitar and harmonica got past around as people sang, laughed and listened well into the night.

Riley & Robert's New Orleans Wedding

I loved shooting this incredible wedding. So much style and class. PLUS, the most ridiculously awesome send off that would make Caleb Chancey proud (and a completely random surprise to Riley & Robert). Keep bringin' me to the Big Easy people!! I love it down there. I'm sad that my three New Orleans weddings for the spring are past. Can't wait to shoot there again in December!
Enjoy.

Christina & Jacob Super 8

I'm in love with this incredible wedding of Christina and Jacob. The affair was small and intimate and took place at Point Bonita which overlooks the Golden Gate Bridge. The family rented a large home in the National Park that all 30 guests (and photographers!) stayed in for the weekend. My wife Ashley and I documented the event. Ashley was working the Super 8 and me working the stills!
I love the footage that she captured, and she looked great getting it!

The film was impeccably edited (as always) by our resident Super 8 specialist, Mr. Branden Lower.
More to come from this amazing event!

I was raised in Atlanta, and it's close to Birmingham that sometimes it feels like home. Elizabeth & Hayward made me wish I shot more weddings there!

Riley & Robert, Portrait Studio

Riley & Robert
I recently began to capture the reception portrait studio images with my Mamiya RZ 67, instead of my Canon 5D. While the 5D looks incredible, the RZ 67 combined with Ilford XP2 (black & white) provides such a timeless look. Here are a favorites from Riley and Robert's wedding reception. I did this same set up this past weekend at my wedding in West Palm but I shot Kodak 400 NC (color). I'm anxious to see the results.
Enjoy!
