Allison and Matt, Charleston

Allison & Matt's wedding was one of the most emotion I have ever experienced. In addition to the wedding, I had the pleasure of shooting their rehearsal dinner the night before. By the end of the night, everyone (including myself) was weeping with joy for this incredible couple. Their love had experienced a lot, and that love was very evident the entire weekend.

It was a joy to capture these moments.

Happy Weekend, Allison and Matt

I love the raw emotion that Caleb captured in this image, especially with Allison's father breaking down in the background.

More from this beautiful Charleston wedding on Monday.

Daniel Bashta, Album Cover Session

I often say that photographing a wedding is only the beginning of a beautiful relationship. I love seeing how past wedding clients end up using me for their future endeavors. I photographed Daniel's marriage to his beautiful wife Taylor in October of 2007 and we've stayed friends since. Daniel is a worship leader at a church in Atlanta and recently hired me to capture images for his latest album.

I'm very weary of band photography. It's often too forced; like the band takes themselves way too seriously. I wanted the session to feel natural and straight forward. Daniel brought a few props that went along with the theme of his album (Like a Lion), and I brought an arsenal of cameras. We played around Atlanta for a full afternoon, and I'm pleased with what we captured. Below are a few favorites.

Thanks to Chase Kuhn for assisting.
Check out Daniel's music.

The Kallam Family

I've known the Kallam family for years and I'm honored to have done this session with them over Christmas. Tim is a local pastor in Birmingham and has performed many of the wedding ceremonies over the years that I photographed. As a gift for performing their wedding ceremony, Whitney and Jason gave the Kallam's a session with me. I hope its not our last!

Enjoy!

Crestwood Snow Day

It's rare to get a snow in Alabama and when we do, we like to take advantage. Here are some shots of our boys (above) and our good friends (and neighbors) the Brooks' and the Kling's from our most recent snow storm.

Kandis & Eric

Here's a maternity session I recently photographed for Kandis and her husband Eric. We photographed their wedding a few years ago and I was honored to document this new stage in their life!
Thanks to Caroline Brewer for styling.

A Bryan Photo Workshop: Super 8 & Images!

I love this Super 8 film which highlights our last workshop here in Birmingham. Viewing it reminds of the imagination and curiosity that is sparked when a group of photographers get together with pockets full of film and an arsenal of film cameras at their disposal. The sense of wonder amongst the group is contagious. It is this feeling that I return to when people want to debate film vs. digital. All I know is that I feel like a giddy school boy when I have a film camera in my hands. And the results continue to make my heart beat a little faster. Until digital does the same for me, I'm sticking with film!

Below are some images that our incredible group of extremely professional photographers captured.

Special thanks to:
Kodak for providing the film
Richard Photo Lab for the film processing
Caroline Brewer for styling the afternoon
The Carters and the Andersons for modeling
