Workshop Portraits
Well, I promised some workshop images, and I'm just now getting around to posting some! I was so impressed with all the film from our participants and am still wanting to post some photos that everyone took. For now, here are some photos I took of some of my new photographer friends. I wish I had thought to personally take a photo of each participant! Oh well, maybe next workshop!

Workshop Follow Up
Photogen Inc Blog Episode #8: A Bryan Workshop! from eliesa on Vimeo.
It was an absolute blast hosting the workshop last month, but it's SO exciting when I see how the ideas discussed begin to take root for the photographers that attended! Just this week I have seen new film images (that were processed by Richard Photo Lab) from Matt Dorrah and Amelia Strauss. Also, Kallie Buckmaster just presented her first Cypress Album to a client! I'm so happy to see this! If you were at the workshop and you want to share something that you learned, please leave a comment. We would love to hear from you!
Also, major thanks to Eliesa of Photogen Inc for putting together her own recap of her time her time in Alabama! Check out her video above!
Tomorrow I'm going to post some film shots taken at the workshop! Stay Tuned!
Tina & Jim, March 14th 2009

Here are some of my favorite images from Tina and Jim's Charleston wedding this March. Tina and Jim live in Charlotte, NC but came to Charleston on their first trip together almost two years ago. Ever since that trip, Tina and Jim have held a special fondness for that town. They choose Charleston for their wedding location, despite the fact that none of their family or friends are from the area. Because of this, the William Aiken House was perfect venue. It kept all the guests in one location for the ceremony and reception. It was also really important for Tina and Jim that everyone remain close together, considering it was a small and intimate celebration. The weekend was pulled off beautifully by the Blue Moon Events girls and Barry West of Blossoms Events. All who attended left with a great appreciation for Tina and Jim and for the South's most charming town.

The Wingate Family

Martha, Mary Hudson, and Bill Wingate
I love it when I connect with clients who truly understand the value of having their family history captured regularly. They are able to envision their family photographs lining the hallway of their home 20 years from now. The Wingate's are a family that share this vision, and have thankfully entrusted me to capture their family images for years to come. I'm so excited about following this family, watching and documenting their growth and adventures. We had our first session in the studio this past January and this past month I photographed their daughter Mary Hudson's first birthday.
Here are a few favorites from our session in January:

Stephanie & Scott, March 7th 2008

For me, it is the ultimate compliment when the sibling of a past client books you for their wedding too! A month after Britton and Robert's wedding last September I got a call from Stephanie (Britton's newly engaged sister) asking me to photograph her wedding as well! Both of these Montgomery weddings have been so beautiful and yet they have had their own distinctive styles.
Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.

Both Stephanie and Britton's receptions took place at the Montgomery Country Club, but they couldn't have looked more different.

This video is a quick preview from the stunning Charleston wedding we photographed this weekend. The weekend included two ceremonies, an Indian ceremony on Saturday at Daniel Island Club and a traditional ceremony on Sunday at Lowndes Grove. All of the events were designed my the amazing Calder Clark of Blue Moon Events!
The video was shot on the new 5D Mark II (and we are still trying to figure out how the focusing works). Thanks to my amazing intern Patrick for shooting the video for me!

It is always nice to know that an editor likes your work enough to feature it in their magazine! These three magazines below have selected some of our weddings for their audience this Spring. For this, we are so grateful!
One of my favorite weddings from last fall was Lauren & Tim's in New Orleans. Shot beautifully by Mr. Caleb Chancey and picked by Martha Stewart for their Spring's Wedding issue!
Flower Magazine is based in Birmingham and started by my good friend Margot Shaw. They thrive on "enriching your life through the beauty of flowers". They chose to feature the flowers from Caroline & Will's rehearsal dinner from last April. The event took place at Birmingham's Bottega restaurant. I LOVED this event design. To view all the images, click HERE.
Last, but certainly not least is Southern Weddings. We are so pleased to be well featured in the 1st issue of this incredible magazine. Lara and her team have made great waves in the southern wedding industry with this magazine. If you are engaged and don't have a copy of this magazine, you need to grab one! It's got so many great ideas and inspirations.
They featured the lovely wedding of Catherine and Ben:
And they featured Jordan and Caitlin's Blackberry Farm wedding:
Finally, they interviewed some film shooters for a story on film!
