This is my favorite portrait of Laura from her wedding day. So classic.

Lindsey & Branden 8mm
Here's a 8mm film from the wedding of A Bryan Photo's very own Branden Lower and his beautiful bride Lindsey! As many of you know, Branden is to one who typically shoots our 8mm films. But this time it was his turn to be on the other side of the camera!
This film was shot beautifully by Mr. Rob Culpepper.
Song is a Buddy Holly cover called "Everyday", performed by Rouge Wave. If you like it, buy it HERE!

Beth & Josh (A Shoot in San Francisco)

I'm shooting Beth and Josh's wedding in New Orleans in March, but they live in San Francisco. Since I had a wedding in San Fran 3 weeks ago, Chase and I spent a day in the city with these two kids on the Sunday after my wedding. We went to all over town to a few of their favorite spots! My favorite time of the day was buying junk food and a six pack of beer and sitting on the roof of Beth's apartment building just talking about life. I'm so blessed they chose me to document this time of life for them.

Cocktail Hour

Whenever I get the chance to document the cocktail hour, I love grabbing my LOMO and capturing some real moments of the guests. Since the LOMO is small and inconspicuous, I can move through the crowd and look like I belong. Most people don't want a huge camera in their face when they are just sipping on a drink and having a conversation. As a photographer you have to give guests time before you are a bit more obvious with your image taking (after the alcohol has set in and they are dancing you can be more intentional). Nothing is worse than making the guests feel uncomfortable!
Here are a few favorite images from Catherine and Payton's cocktail hour!

Bethany and Josh (Engagement Preview)

Here's a quick preview from my amazing engagement shoot in San Francisco last weekend! I cannot wait to show off more from this incredible shoot.
Have a great weekend!

Lindsey & Branden (Engagement)

The week before Branden and Lindsey's wedding I got a chance to do an engagement session for them. As a backdrop I chose a vineyard outside of Birmingham where we could shoot and then have a picnic. It was a nice relaxing way for them to kick off their wedding week! I look forward to posting their wedding images very soon!

Guys Preparation

I love any chance I get to capture guys preparing for a wedding day, but it unfortunately doesn't happen very often. Either guys aren't interested in having their photos taken or there's no way to allot time in the schedule for it. In my opinion, these photographs are some of the most masculine and classic images taken of the groom all day. On a day in which grooms have traditionally played a support role to the bride, I would love to see them highlighed more by these essential photographic sessions.
Thoughts?

Blurry or Crisp?

In the words of John Dolan, "What's your blur tolerance?"
My personal blur tolerance is pretty high, and if I where choosing between this two shots, I'd have to go with first one. For me, blur adds mystery and intrigue. In a strange way, it feels more timeless.
How about you? Which do you prefer?

Courtney & Sim (Reception B & W)

My most recent obsession has been to shoot Fuji's 1600 Neopan in my Leica M6. I just can't get over the look, mood and texture of this film shot on a Leica. These images from Courtney and Sim's wedding came in from my lab last night and I just had to share a few! The above image is Courtney and Sim during the first dance.
And I LOVE these of Courtney dancing with her dad!

Melissa

Photo taken by Caleb. One of my favorite portraits he's ever captured. One reason why I love film is these incredible images aren't the product of tons of photoshop work (or actions). Photographers, do you prefer to make your images interesting while shooting or later in Photoshop?

Julia

Today is Julia's wedding! This is my personal favorite image that I captured during her bridal session last month.
So classic.
